I was the last child born on the Moulton Ranch on a 99 degree day in August 1976.

The hills of Laguna Niguel were literally my childhood playground. My regular encounters were thorns, deer, rattlesnakes, skunks, spiders and coyotes in the hills.

At that time, the Moulton family still operated their cattle ranch and we lived in one of the 5 houses. Ask my Mom about the scorpion story underneath my crib. Ask my Dad about the rattlesnake underneath Herman, our vintage VW Bus, then ask him how he got rid of that rattlesnake! When the Mission Viejo Company ultimately purchased the land from the Moulton family, the ranch began to transform very slowly into a modern day planned community. It took about 20 years to break ground from its original condition. That community is now called Aliso Viejo.

Ironically, my younger brother Jeremy was the first child born in the new town of Aliso Viejo in 1977. Our neighbors were decendents of Nellie Gail Moulton, the wife of Lewis Moulton. Their daughter, Louise was the last Moulton to live on the ranch. Our friends and neighbors were Buck and Helga, the Egans, and us. We lived a simple life on the ranch with our 2 dogs, Delaney and Mutley.

I began real estate sales in college in 1999 as an office broker’s assistant doing tours and contracts for one of the all-time good guys, Mr. Brady Butcher.

I grew up in the same house in the same small town (Laguna Niguel) since birth. There were only empty rolling hills as far as you could see! Rattlesnakes and black widows were life’s biggest concern. Big thorny tumbleweeds were a regular sight whenever the Santa Ana winds were blowing offshore.

I used to ride my BMX bike through all the newly graded developments and could tell you just about everything about my hometown. I never told my Mom I rode motorcycles with Clint Hayden and his Dad, she wouldn’t allow it.

We had a huge 8 foot half-pipe at the end of our cul-de-sac street (My Dad still owns and lives in the house), my original neighbor, Jason Burden is still one of my closest friends, and Jim, the owner of Oakely, lived up the street. Our best friends were the Ishimaru’s, the Hefty’s, the Okun’s, the Swartz’, the Harrison’s, and we dated the hot Miles’ girls. Jim Jannard, the future Oakley genius, gave us his new hot ticket, BMX bike handle grips for our bikes, named after his dog. He later revolutionized the sunglass industry with the “Blades” and our changable colored lenses. His son is still good friends with our crew.

Without anyone around, there were a lot more stars visible, and my Dad taught me to keep an eye out for the wild animals, and not to move when a rattlesnake shook its tail.

My younger brother Jeremy, still holds the single season homerun record for Laguna Niguel Little League at 34 in a single season. He smashed the ball and was scouted by the Los Angeles Dodgers scout Denny Haren at the ripe age of 12.

I was the left handed pitcher and first baseman – we were both All-Stars. We have been huge Dodger fans our entire lives and my favorite players were Pedro Guerrero and Steve Sax.

I was an All-Star soccer player and multiple MVP of my soccer teams, I was (the goal scoring) center forward.

Obviously I love baseball, especially the L.A. Dodgers (ha! even though we have Angels season tickets) and my best sport as an athlete is soccer.

I was eventually a Varsity Letterman at Dana Hills in Soccer and Surfing. I elected to forego school, soccer, college for a once in a lifetime opportunity to travel, surf, and become a professional surfer. My friends growing up surfing were Rod Brewster, Chad Mitchell, Dave Boehne, Jon Eshleman and about a hundred and fifty-two others from Dana Point and Salt Creek.

One of my favorite things to do is to be hanging with my brothers anywhere, especially at the beach where we grew-up. Both of my brothers are married, surf, work, and live locally in Laguna Niguel and Dana Point.

We all attended Dana Hills, Niguel Hills Jr. High and Moulton Elementary School.

One of my all-time favorite things to do at any given time, is surfing. Especially at my home break at Salt Creek.

I was a professional surfer directly out of high school and ranked in the world’s top 200 of competitive surfing by the time I was 21. If you knew me, surfing never came easy. I am 6 feet tall. Surfing only became possible when I focused to make the surf team during high school. We were notoriously very talented and it was a big deal to be on the starting line-up on the all-school surf team. I did, and helped lead my team to the state finals against Chris Ward and Gavin Beschen, who surfed for rival San Clemente. I’d like to thank my friend, “Persistence” for giving me the desire to surf as good as my peers and take it to the best in the world. Surfing Salt Creek was essential everyday, plus having mentors like Nick Carroll, Larry “FLAME” Moore, Mike Howard, Mike Foudy, Pat O’Connell, Todd Aimer, Gavin Haughey, Vince De La Pena, Brad Kingsley, the legend of Mark Ballanger, Mike Baker, Scott Degenais, Rick Toohey, and Jerry Tucker all helped my cause.

I have been all over the world as a traveling contest surfer, and even traveled Europe in a backpack for 3 months after graduating college, one day I’ll make a film based on the adventures and the stories written daily in a journal I kept.

I am a big time community advocate; a member of student representative advisory board, student legislative council, Legislative Senator, Commissioner in the Office of the President, and now the Chairman of the Orange County Association of Realtor’s OC YPN. I was also a SigEp at my University.

I love being the Chairman of the Orange County Association of Realtors Young Professional Network. We have a powerful group!

I closed my first big deal here in Laguna Niguel just before my only Grandfather passed away. Grandpa Jack was a real estate Broker in Orange County for 52 years. Grandpa ran the Anaheim Board of Realtors for 25 years, was a member of the County Assesment Appeals Board, and taught real estate ethics classes at night – he loved teaching.

My Grandmother was a lender for 35 years.

My mentor and “GodFather” Watty is an accomplished real estate developer.

My Great-Grandmother “Memo” was a licenced realtor in California in the 1950′s!

My Father is a marketing and sales Director.

My older brother is a General Contractor.

My younger brother is a broker like me.

My Mother is an accomplished choreographer and director, she also is the Director of Discovery Arts, our favorite charity!

My passions are the ocean, my family and my friends.

I love my job because it is something I truly enjoy. It is very natural to me selling real estate, and meeting new friends makes the experience better for me. The clients all have their unique personalities, as do the agents. I am easily adaptable to all personalities, and have never faced a challenge I didn’t win.

I am 34 years old and have not yet been married.
